2-5 Testing and Qualifications
Thank you for your interest in the Highly Gifted (HG) Program at Rogers Park Elementary. Referrals for testing or more information can be requested by contacting the Administrative Assistant, Amy Jettenberg at jettenberg_amy@asdk12.org or (907)742-4776.
Requirements for the Highly Gifted Program Grades 2-5
In order to qualify for the Elementary Highly Gifted delivery model, students must meet the following criteria and be approved by a supervisor or two members of the Gifted Identification Team:
- Reading Achievement: Students must receive a reading achievement score ≥ 96th percentile.
- Verbal Ability: Students must receive a verbal or verbal composite ability score ≥ 98th percentile.
- Math Achievement or Ability: Students must receive a math achievement or math ability score ≥ 50th percentile.

Testing is administered in small groups with breaks during the testing process. Usually, the students perform at least two grade levels higher than their age group peers.
- As in any testing situation, well-rested, well-fed, and relaxed children have an advantage.
